Q + A
Are children welcome at your wedding?
We absolutely adore your children and would love to include them in the celebration, but our venue is not child-friendly, especially for children under the age of 12. However, we understand it can be difficult to travel without your little ones; please let us know if you would be interested in a babysitting service during the wedding and we will investigate childcare options.
Is the venue ADA accessible?
Yes! All rooms are ADA-compliant with wheelchair access and the venue has an elevator. Please let us know if you require any other accommodations and we will do our best to meet your needs!
Will there be a choice of meal?
Dinner will include a family style salad course with two entrees/main courses served French style (meaning you get a bit of both!) with family style sides. There will also be a vegan option available. Please let us know if you have any food allergies and we will be happy to accommodate you!
Where should we stay if we're coming in from out of town?
We have secured room blocks at two nearby hotels. Please check the Hotels & Travel section of this website for more information.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is formal, meaning long or cocktail dresses and traditional suits or kilts (tuxedos not necessary). August in DC is very hot and humid but the entire wedding (ceremony included) will be indoors and air conditioned, so keep that in mind when choosing your attire.
Is there parking at the venue?
District Winery doesn't have a dedicated parking lot and there is a Nationals game the evening of the wedding, so we recommend utilizing public transportation or taxis/Uber/Lyft if possible. District Winery does have a limited number of spots reserved in Yards Park Lot Q, which is directly next to the building. Please let us know if you plan to drive so we can alert the venue and let them know how many of those reserved spots we'd ideally like to secure. We cannot guarantee spots for everyone, but you may be able to find street parking or a space in one of the paid garages nearby.
Is smoking and/or vaping allowed at the venue?
No, District Winery is a strictly non-smoking venue. There is an outdoor terrace but the flooring is highly flammable, so no smoking or vaping of any kind is allowed either indoors or outdoors. You can leave the building to smoke in the public park outside of the venue, however.
